Making persons with intellectual disabilities stakeholders of national development by giving them love and affection and providing opportunities for skills development and making them contribute to the production process.

History

This institute was established as a sub branch of the Navodaya project of the Department of Social Services for the provision of services to boys with intellectual disabilities who have been deprived of care and protection of their parents. The project received the full backing of the government at the time and the 17-acre land whereon the institute is situated was donation from the late Mr. Jayaweera Arachchige Loius Singho, a philanthropist from Warapalana, Udathuthiripitiya, Gampaha. Subsequently, this institution was renamed as Jayaviru Sevana as a mark of respect to him. At present, nearly 80 boys are under the care of the institute.

It is located in North Ambalamwatta three and a half kilometers down Hewainna Road which is to the south from Puwakpitiya town close to Awissawella along the Colombo - Awissawella Highlevel Road.
