The objective of this programme is to ensure human rights of the disabled youth by providing them with opportunities to rise up with confidence and self respect and be stake holders of the national economy. For this purpose they are enrolled into a productive rehabilitation process in order to develop their talent through vocational training and consequently integrate them in to the society.
 
This programme is implemented in five Vocational Training Centres in three Districts

Vocational Training Centre – Amunukumbura
  Vocational Training Centre – Seeduwa
   
  • Kandy
Vocational Training Centre – Katawala
  Vocational Training Centre – Wattegama 
   
  • Hambantota
Vocational Training Centre – Thelabuyaya  
     
  • Rathnapura
Vibavi Vocational Training Centre – Kalawana  
     
  • Puttalama
Vocational Training Centre – Madampe  
     
     
It has been made possible for them to follow a vocational training are recruited for training centre in a District that would suit them.
 
Qualifications
  • Between the ages of 16 – 35 years
  • Unmarried
  • Suffering from an acceptable disablement
 
Enrolment procedure
Selecting at Divisional Secretary levels through Community Based Programme
Selection through Social Services Officers
Selections by calling for applications through newspaper notices
Sending applications direct to the Director of Social Services
Department will forward the Application form to the appropriate Vocational Training Centres
The respective Vocational Training Centre will hold an interview and select training for suitable courses
 
 
Facilities Provided
Free residential facilities
A daily allowance of Rs. 110 /- per external trainee, Rs. 50 /- per residential trainee & Rs. 75 /- per trainees at NGOs.
Toll kit worth Rs. 10,000 /-
Government recognize certificate.
